
James A.S. Legh
Mr. Legh's primary legal experience is in litigation. He has practiced in the area of personal injury for over 25 years, having acted for clients around the world. Settlements and judgments have been based on the nature of the losses suffered, and have been as high as $6.3 Million.
Other areas of experience include commercial litigation, business advice, professional malpractice, employment law, family law, tax appeals, and property assessment appeals.
He attended law school at the University of Manitoba, and graduated with his LL.B. in 1985. He is a member of the Manitoba Bar and the Bar in British Columbia since 1988. He also holds a Family Law Mediation designation since 1993. He has authored a number of legal articles and co-authored the BC Property Assessment Manual and the annual updates published by CLE.
Mr. Legh has had a long and substantial history of volunteerism. He is actively involved with the Victoria Bar Association. His community work is varied but highlighted by his 30 years as a leader with Scouts Canada. He is currently the Chair of the National Scout Foundation and is active with local youth. He is a holder of the Chief Scout's Award and has received the Saanich Volunteer Adult Award (2001), the Medal of Merit for especially good service to Scouting (2005), the Canadian Bar Association (B.C.) Community Service Award (2008), and the Bar to the Medal of Merit for continued good service to Scouting (2011).

Tyler T. Luchies
Mr. Luchies obtained a Bachelor of Commerce with Honors from the University of Alberta in 1987. He continued his education at the University of Toronto, and was awarded a Bachelor of Laws in 1990. He was the recipient of the Willis Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Law School and also sat on the Governor's Council and the University of Toronto Faculty of Law Dean Search Committee. Mr. Luchies was the President of the Student Law Society in his year of graduation. Mr. Luchies was called to the Bar of British Columbia on August 30th, 1991.
In addition to outstanding legal achievements, Mr. Luchies is an active community member. He volunteers for the Summit Society for Youth at Risk, and was a Chair for LifeCycles,"Home Is Where We Live" Project. He is a founding member of the Collaborative Family Law Group and a founding member of the Humanitarian Award at the University of Victoria Faculty of Law. Mr. Luchies is also a mentor at the University of Victoria Law School and a volunteer judge for the school's moot court. Recreationally, Mr. Luchies enjoys volleyball, golf, and spending time with his family.

Jon A.C. Stewart
A lawyer for 15 years, Mr. Stewart practices in Personal Injury and Family law. He has dealt extensively with ICBC to secure compensation for his clients. With respect to personal injury matters, Mr. Stewart's primary goal is his clients' recovery. Mr. Stewart completed his law degree at Queens University, and completed his articles at a large Vancouver law firm. He has been practicing in Victoria since his admission to the bar. A tough negotiator, he has a wide range of experience in trying cases in both the Provincial Court and the Supreme Court of British Columbia, as well as settling cases outside of court. Mr. Stewart is a past member of the Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia and has served as a board member for Capital Families Association.
In his spare time, Mr. Stewart enjoys reading, sports, and spending time with his wife and children.

Deanna Rivers
Ms. Rivers attended law school at the University of Victoria, and graduated with an LL.B. in 1995. She was called to the bar of British Columbia in February 1996, after articling with the law firm of Anniko Hunter. She practiced with Anniko Hunter until 2001. Joining Stevenson Luchies & Legh in 2003, Ms. Rivers practices primarily in litigation preparation, estate planning, estates and conveyancing.
In addition to her law practice, Ms. Rivers has 15 years military service, and has received the United Nations Forces in Cyprus medal, the Canadian Peacekeeping Service medal and the Canadian Decoration.
Ms. Rivers is married and has two young children. She is a past chair of the Victoria Young Lawyers and Victoria Wills and Trusts sections of the Canadian Bar Association. She is involved with her children's soccer, lacrosse and Cubs, and is a Pathfinder Leader with Girl Guides of Canada.

Grant Smith
Mr. Smith's primary area of practice is Family Law and Civil Litigation. He has been a member of the British Columbia Bar for twelve years and has appeared before courts at all levels throughout BC. He has also appeared before the Court of Queeen's Bench in both Alberta and Manitoba and the Court of Appeal in Alberta.
Graduating from the University of Victoria Law School , Mr. Smith articled in Victoria and was called to the British Columbia Bar in 1999. He has practiced in Victoria since that time.

Albert Berns
Albert Berns joined Stevenson Luchies and Legh in 2011 and heads our Westshore Office. Mr. Berns has considerable skill as a trial lawyer, with experience at all levels of British Columbia Courts and Administrative Tribunals. Mr. Berns’ extensive experience litigating injury, construction, real estate, and debt issues allow him to give effective advice on a wide range of issues.
During his time in the Westshore, Mr. Berns has assisted many residents with property transactions and estate matters and has provided builders and developers with the knowledge and advice required to meet their project needs. Known for his frank and earnest counsel Mr. Berns’ clients, when faced with a legal dilemma, know where they stand early on and throughout the litigation process.
Born and raised on Vancouver Island, he began practicing law in the Westshore in 1999 after having been employed in the coastal construction industry for 15 years. Mr. Berns is active within his community, enjoys arts and sports, and pursues outdoor recreation and travel.

Daniel Mildenberger
Daniel graduated from the University of Victoria Faculty of Law in 2000 followed by articles and employment at another Victoria law firm before joining Stevenson Luchies and Legh in 2010.
Daniel's career prior to law was in commercial real estate sales and leasing. This turned out to be a good background to have in understanding clients' needs in legal matters and in solving complex problems. His law experience is primarily in general civil litigation including employment, administrative, construction, real property and estate disputes. He has appeared before all levels of court in British Columbia as well as before numerous tribunals and arbitration panels. In 2010 Daniel was appointed by the British Columbia Real Estate Association as an instructor for Continuing Professional Education courses in real estate law.
Outside of the office Daniel enjoys family outings and vacations. He volunteers as a soccer coach and as Director of Risk Management with Bays United. He is also a year- round bicycle commuter and runs marathons (P.B. 3:35 2009 Las Vegas).

George Ingebrand
Mr. Ingebrand graduated as an officer from St. Thomas Military Academy, earned his B.A degree from the University of Minnesota and was awarded his J.D. degree from William Mitchell. He has practiced law in the U.S. for over 22 years and is a barrister and solicitor practicing law in British Columbia. Justin Hanson
Justin was born in Port of Spain, Trinidad and moved to Victoria in 1988. Justin graduated from the University of Victoria faculty of Law in 2003. Justin articled in Victoria and then joined another law firm where he practiced for 7 years before joining Stevenson Luchies & Legh in 2011.
Justin’s primary practice area is in Strata Property Law. He has advised or represented over 150 Strata Corporations from Victoria, to Sooke, Sidney and beyond, in matters ranging from internal governance issues, property disputes with neighbours, leaky condo remediation’s and everything in between. Beyond his Strata Property Law practice, Justin also practices in the area of Civil Litigation and has successfully fought cases at all three levels of court in British Columbia, on topics ranging from construction disputes, contractual disputes, property disputes, and corporate disputes. Justin also assists clients in conveyancing and refinancing of residential properties.
Justin is married and has a young daughter who is the center of his life. Outside of the office Justin participates in Outrigger Canoeing, kayaking and other paddle sports, and can often be seen paddling down the Gorge and into the Salish Sea.

Emily C. Drown
Emily has resided on Vancouver Island since 1990. She received her Bachelor of Arts (with distinction) from Vancouver Island University (formerly Malaspina University-College) in 2000. She graduated with her LLB in 2004 from the University of Victoria and after articling for the requisite one year was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 2005. Emily has practiced law in Victoria ever since.
Emily maintains a general practice, with an emphasis on the following areas of law:
• Civil and commercial litigation – including family law, estate litigation, and business, property and construction disputes;
• Real estate – including residential purchases, land development, commercial leasing and financing; and
• Company law – including incorporations, reorganizations and asset and share purchases.
Emily approaches legal issues with a view to finding efficient and cost-effective solutions for her clients. Emily believes in keeping transactions as simple and straight forward as possible. When her clients are facing litigation, she believes in trying to reach a mutually agreeable solution to the problem through the use of alternative dispute resolution. However, if that fails, she is always prepared to proceed to court and has appeared in front of all levels of court in British Columbia, from the Provincial Court to the Court of Appeal.
In her final year of law school, Emily was awarded the prestigious McIntyre Medal for community service and academic excellence and received the coveted Blue Circle Award from the University of Victoria.
Emily was appointed to the British Columbia Safety Standards Appeal Board in 2008 and currently sits as a vice-chair.
Emily is married and has a young daughter. Outside of the office, Emily enjoys travelling and outdoor recreation, including hiking, camping, cycling and paddling.

Chris G. Robb
Mr. Robb was born and raised on Vancouver Island. After graduating from St. Michaels University School here in Victoria, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from McGill University in 2000. He continued his studies by pursuing a legal education at Dalhousie University in Halifax, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Laws in 2004. Mr. Robb was called to the Bar of British Columbia in March 2006, after completing his articles with Stevenson Luchies & Legh.
Mr. Robb maintains a broad civil practice, working primarily in the areas of family law, estates litigation and personal injury litigation. Mr. Robb has appeared before the Supreme Court of British Columbia, the Provincial Court of British Columbia and federal tribunals on numerous matters.
Outside of the office, Mr. Robb enjoys a variety of activities from SCUBA diving and rock climbing to reading a good book or doing the Saturday crossword. Mr. Robb is also an avid traveler and enjoys seeing the sights around the world with his wife.

Elizabeth Stewart
Ms. Stewart was raised in Victoria. Prior to attending law school, she completed a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Saskatchewan and worked for a number of years doing genetic and bio-technology research in Saskatoon.
She pursued her legal education at the University of Saskatchewan where she graduated with a Juris Doctor in 2010. During Law School, Elizabeth volunteered with the local legal clinic and enjoyed a term abroad at Masaryk University in the Czech Republic. Elizabeth was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 2011.
Prior to joining Stevenson Luchies and Legh, Elizabeth articled with MacIsaac & Company in Victoria.
Recreationally, Elizabeth loves to play tennis, golf, travel and work out at the gym.

Isabel Weeks-Lambert
Isabel Weeks-Lambert is an Associate Counsel of the firm.
She received her BA from Trinity College, University of Toronto in 1970 and her LLB from the University of Western Ontario in 1976. She was on the Dean's List (top ten percent of class) and received the Harold G. Fox Award for the student showing exceptional promise.
Ms. Weeks-Lambert articled and worked as a junior associate at the prominent Bay Street Toronto law firm of Blaney Pasternak (now Blaney McMurtry). Ms. Weeks Lambert then worked as in-house counsel for Sun Life Assurance Company.
Ms. Weeks-Lambert relocated to San Diego California and passed the California Bar Exam in 1985. Ms. Weeks-Lambert worked as in-house counsel for JACK IN THE BOX (JBX) restaurants from 1986 to 1994. Ms. Weeks-Lambert was responsible for the franchise law compliance program, including updating and publishing the Franchise Offering Circular, as well as all legal aspects of franchise relationship issues. Ms. Weeks-Lambert also furnished legal advice to management and field operations regarding legal rights and obligations related to employment practices.
Ms. Weeks-Lambert was in-house franchise counsel for MAIL BOXES ETC. (now the UPS Store), from 1997 to 1999, where she was again responsible for preparation of the FOC and Franchise Agreement, and compliance with all Federal and State franchise investment, disclosure and registration laws governing franchising. She also provided advice on franchise relationship issues. In addition to two in-house positions with major business franchise companies, Ms. Weeks-Lambert has extensive experience in private practice in franchise law. She also has extensive experience in employment related matters and has conducted numerous training workshops for managers on a variety of legal issues.
Ms. Weeks-Lambert relocated to Victoria and was called to the Bar in British Columbia in 2002. Ms. Weeks-Lambert continues to provide her clients with advice on a variety of legal issues.
